The Food debate in USA
The language a bit more flowery but the tensions similar.   The Food Policy Councils are a sort of regional mainstreaming of the Food 2030 strategy. Some homework for the Forum and IRS.   There is more emphasis on economic contribution to regions in this USA sustainable concept. (19/01/10)

Water - How we move it around the world in products.
Another aspect of Food Security is water availability.  This WWF report looks at from where we import food and the water it takes.  It does not look at possible stresses of climate change on the water availability.  Basically the stress will increase and political decisions about priorities are most likely to affect exports and thus UK food security.

This report looks at water in Asia and shows in detail the stresses predicted in broad terms in the WWF report.  It makes scary reading.
